The Fife Road project stands as one of O’Sullivan Civil Engineering’s most technically demanding achievements, demonstrating our expertise in extreme construction conditions. This 14-month, £400,000 project in 2014 required basement construction while managing the Beverly Brook river flowing directly beneath the site – a rare and complex engineering challenge.

Our comprehensive solution included installing a secant piled cofferdam creating a watertight enclosure, implementing sophisticated facade retention systems to preserve the building’s existing front elevation, executing pile beam underpinning for enhanced foundation capacity, deploying continuous dewatering systems controlling both groundwater and river flow, and constructing extensive temporary works supporting the existing roof structure.

The successful completion demonstrates our capability to deliver complex basement projects in the most challenging ground and water conditions imaginable.
