The ABC Cinema redevelopment represents one of O’Sullivan Civil Engineering’s most substantial projects, demonstrating our capability in major mixed-use urban regeneration. Delivered over 10 months in 2012 with a £2.6 million budget, this transformative scheme created a modern leisure and residential complex while preserving the cinema’s iconic original facade.

Our comprehensive scope encompassed sensitive retention of the historic building frontage, piled foundation installation providing robust support, steel sheet piling creating secure site boundaries, systematic basement excavation for swimming pool and leisure facilities, construction of pile caps and ground beam networks, extensive steel reinforcement fixing, ground floor slab installation, deployment of efficient flying formwork table systems enabling rapid floor construction, and methodical six-storey reinforced concrete frame build creating residential apartments.

This landmark project exemplifies our expertise delivering complex urban redevelopment combining heritage conservation, leisure facilities, and multi-storey residential construction.
